Smartt Farm

The girls have been begging to go to Smartt farm for about a year... every time we drive by they ask. So tonight we got watermelon for family night tonight. Have you ever had yellow watermelon? It doesnt taste like thr red varieties at all. It is sweet and mild with a hint of vanilla.... dare I say a "remenissence" of vanilla. So lovely.

Revenge of the grown ups: Dora

Have you ever woken up singing the back pack song?
As reward for the hours of torture endured by parents I give you "Dora the Explorer".
OR if you just need a really good laugh. :)

Romantics Anonymous

This is the best movie we have seen in... I don't even know.
It is french (read: has subtitles), but WOW WOW and WOW... Think Dan in Real Life and Stranger than Fiction.

Think lovely. PS- this movie is squeaky clean, and I think I have pretty high standards as far as squeakiness goes in movies ;)

Also funny (and French), Heart Breaker.

Water rower

We cancelled our gym membership... getting 3 kids to the gym just doesn't happen. But I missed the rowing machines. Apparently Cori has been thinking of me, he is so good. He found me a water rower for $350...the woman who owned it used it for a few months felt she didn't get the results she wanted (probably because it wasnt put together correctly....

Love love love.
What a good husband I have.

Sadie post surgery : if you're squeamish skip this one

Here is our sweet Sadie, poor thing. She had surgery Sunday night to lance two abscesses in her right eye lids.
At first they thought that her eye had burst it was so swollen they could not see it.
Now she is at home with her plastic cone around her head resting, poor thing.
She looks better now, (this was taken on Monday morning).

I was going to cut her hair when we got home from vacation.... somehow I think it's going to need to be a little shorter than I initially planned....

4 of July on the Willamette River... where in we sunk.

Begin forwarded message:

These are the pictures that I snapped on my sister in law's phone while we were sinking/being pulled to shore/being rescued by Uncle Erik's friend Ed and his family.
To make a long story short... we hit some rocks. Boats are not meant to hit rocks. Papa took very good care of us, and Erik, I hope your foot did not break in any more places then it already had when you ran to get Ed. And Ed... well... Ed it awesome.
Papa, pretty cool under pressure, pulling 2/3 of his girls to shore (the rest had stayed on shore)
Girls keeping their cool while putting on shoes in case they have to jump ship.
do you see Tif standing in all that water? We were about half full when they showed up.
While our day didn't turn out exactly as we planned... it was a good day.
Some more than providential timing that brought us all back safely.
I wish I had a picture of our police escort up the Willamette though....
Maybe next year.... (just kidding)
Uncle Erik and Ed come to save the day.

Ew! Yuck! Adventures of a (soggy) Little Brother: At Nana & Papa's

You may notice, my mom hasn't been writing on this computer thing... we are on vacation (that means I get to drink soda, eat whatever I want).
I like vacation. Except sometimes I'm tired.
We'll be home next week.
Two things I want to tell you.
I like cows, and when you sit in a pool for a long time your diaper turns into a funny pillow.
The grown ups told me I look like a bug.
But when you're riding a rocking cow, carrying your own saddle is awesome!
