His sisters want to eat him.
He is that cute.
His mother still can't really walk.
He is that huge.
His father is taking good care of us.
He (his father) is that good.

A lovely morning

This morning I woke up next to my love and we talked quietly about our life.
The girls were still asleep, and that was lovely.
I got in the shower and he went to work.
The girls both woke up dry.
Which means we have 1.5 potty trained children, because Lilly still won't do the day time thing...
She has serious issues with the whole pantie thing. I'll take everyone dry at night for now.

Lilly and I had a nice shower, I even got to shave my legs. What novelty :).
Grandma Alcorn fed them breakfast and I moved my appointment at the Baby Place to 11 this morning instead of 4:30.

My heart is peaceful and happy, and I like my life.

I hope you have as nice a day as I am.

Caster Oil: Updated

Needless to say, I'm not going to church today.

Pray it works.

*** It has been 15 hours since I took my 4 table spoons of Caster Oil this morning (that is 2 oz). And what do I have to show for it? A couple of really stinky farts and 2 hours of sporadic contractions.

What is the deal? I can't even eat cheap Chinese food because it's to oily.

Anyway... tomorrow we have our weekly appointment with the midwives at 4:30, time to talk about 'other options' (read hospital) not super excited. But everything always works out just fine in the end, so I'm sure this will to.

Now I'm going to go sleep with my very wiggly symbiont. He must just like me... or he's scared of Lilly loving him to death.

*sigh* I give.

This morning we started out cautiously optimistic that we would be having a baby today.
By the time the girls went down for naps we were feeling pretty good about things... good enough to call and make sure we had arrangements for the girls if we needed to go in. You know, 90 sec contractions every 10 minutes for 2 hours....

Then they woke up at 3:00 and by 4:30 everything had stopped.

Just had to get that out of my system.

It's 8 pm now. We got nothin'.

We keep saying "He'll come when he comes," but I'm starting to wonder if he know that that means that at some point he is required to come.

This morning I'm grateful for Madeline (the cartoon) and Hulu.
We woke up. Had breakfast and then headed back to bed. The girls took over Cori's side of the bed and watched Madeline for 4 hours while I slept like a dead person. It was lovely. They were kind and happy with each other and now they are pretending they are from Paris and riding an elevator up the Eiffel Tower.

Sleep = Sanity

Today was a lovely day. Just lovely.
Funny how a few hours shut eye make such a difference.
Well... that plus a couple good cries, a good husband, visit from the Bishop and a family date.

Maybe someday soon I will hold a sweet little boy in my arms.
For now, I will just enjoy my back labor and go to bed with a smile on my face.

up since 4

It's 6 am.
I've been awake since 4.
I went to bed at 12 (don't tell me to go to bed earlier, I don' t sleep anyway).
There is a full moon. Like right now. It looks like midnight outside.
Everyone else is asleep....

and this very secret, very tired part of me is sad.

This could be a very long day.

Problem Solver

Precursor: Isn't she so cute? This is her pirate face.

Today I asked Havah to say a prayer with me that Gideon would come tonight or tomorrow.
Cori's work is going to be crazy this weekend and next week, and I would really like for him to be able to take a couple days off with us after Gideon is born.
Tonight and tomorrow are kind of our window of opportunity.
"Yeah Mom! Can I say it? Then I have a book for you."
"Okay, sounds great."

She said her sweet little prayer asking Heavenly Father to have Gideon come soon because "he is all cooked up and we love him and want to have him in our family." When she was finished she hopped off the bed and was back in a couple of minutes with this:

"Mom, there's a page in here that says just what you need to do so Gideon can come!"

I'm glad she's watching out for me.
Thanks Havah J.

Great Grandma

Great Grandma Alcorn is here while we wait for Gideon. She has been so helpful.

I was about Havah's age when my Great Grandma King died. I didn't really know any of my other great Great Grandparents. I have just a few memories of her.
The girls are helping Grandma Alcorn take out her curlers. She is so patient with them pulling her hair. I hope that when they are grown ups they remember doing fixing Grandma's hair.

baby hungry

My children are at the 'baby store' shopping Havah is walking around sticking out her stomach (which you wouldn't know unless she told you, the tooth pick) and they are discussing the details of the kind of baby they would like to purchase.
I think we're all getting desperate.

Playing Solo

I hear a lot of people talk about how important it is to play with your kids.
For the record- I agree...

I also think it is equally important for kids to learn to play on their own.
This morning Havah is at preschool.
On Preschool days (mon, wed) Lilly and I have 'Lilly school'. For an hour we hang out and talk about letters, color, sing, read books, whatever she wants to do (sometimes we just shower). Then she does her thing and I do my thing. It's her chance to be an only child. To play with whatever toys she wants however she wants and no one (aka her sister) can tell her what she is supposed to say or if she is the princess, mom, dad, horse, cook, dog, angry snake... she can be whatever she wants.

This morning she is getting married (when she's not playing with the doll house with all the farm animals). She just came to tell me she made all the treats (blocks) herself, and that if I am very kind I can have some after she finishes putting on her hat.

I wish that I had hidden cameras in the playroom so that someday when my house is quiet (or loud with big kids instead of little kids) I could turn her on a listen to her little mind learning about the world around her while she "P-tens"

My heart is happy

You know when you are worried about something and there is nothing you can do about it, so you just think and hope and pray, and then something good happens and you know whatever that thing you were worried about is just on the cusp of moving from a worry to something excellent...

Do you know that feeling?

That is what happened to me today.
Years of wondering concern replaced with hope and excitement.

That is my happy thing for today.

*I'm still pregnant- that is just a fact.

This face says: "I wish I was holding a baby instead of my belly right now."

This face says: "I'm smiling so I can have my hamburger."

This face says: "FOOOOOD!!!"

iphone... er... hisphone...

So we broke down... after 3 phones this year, we bought Cori an iphone. (and a really good insurance plan) it was getting expensive...

2 cool things about the iphone- it is extremely intuitive (first smart smart phone I've seen) the camera is awesome. I don't really care about the apps and all the junk. I do wish I could get a regular calling phone with that camera.

So we have been using said camera as we are out and about enjoying ourselves, and I thought this is so great! He can email me the pictures, I can post them. That is so awesome.

No so. Apparently, he uses the thing... and when he's not using it he's working (what is he thinking?) I'm going to have to phone-nap it if I ever want to post my pictures.

New favorite thing in the world.

Try the Honey.
You will never need ice cream again.

And before you ask- yes I'm still pregnant... let leave it at that.
It's a sore subject at our house.
