Alive... no baby

It is a beautiful day. The sun is coming up, the sky is blue and the clouds are golden white....
And I am still pregnant.

Maybe I'll go back to bed. (just kidding).

No, in all seriousness it's been a lovely Christmas.
We had our first Christmas at home with out visitors (Melissa spent the night with the fam on Christmas Eve). We love to have people, but it was nice to just be us.
We read the Christmas Story, had Hot Chocolate with candy canes and opened a present.
I was worried about Gideon getting here and not having anything ready for Christmas (HA), so basically every thing was wrapped. I think it took us a hour to get everything ready after the girls went to bed.

Christmas morning was quiet and lovely. The girls didn't really care about any of the big gifts they got, all the favorites have been freebies (I got a bunch of little filler toys from the ward swap meet a few days before Christmas). Oh, but Havah did get her coveted Parcheesi game.
Still, for the last 2 days they've only played with the free stuff though.
GO Swap Meet! I guess.

Cori's work had been pretty crazy this month. The night before last he spent the night in his office, I brought him a pillow and blanket and he took a nap on our massage table. Hopefully they'll have a guy hired to help him in the next few weeks, because January is shaping up to be about the same. We are very blessed, but Cori's job is an area of our life that I feel particularly blessed in.

Our Aunt Andrea came to visit us for a few days. We picked her up on Christmas afternoon and she flew home to Uncle Tortillas (Matthias) on Tuesday. The girls were pretty bummed when they woke up from their nap and she was gone. I was pretty bummed that Little Mister didn't show up while she was here. It was nice to visit and play though. Thanks for coming An!

Now we're just waiting...
Gid has to come eventually right?

*sorry no pictures, my camera is in the car with all the other 'going to have a baby' stuff... and I'm to tired to go and get it. We'll post Christmas pics when Gid gets here I guess.

writters block...

I've been trying to write our Christmas letter... but the only thing I can think to say is " I haven't had a baby yet, I want to have a baby now."

Which doesn't really make for a very interesting letter. Maybe I'll just take a family picture and write "Merry Christmas" on the top... That's festive.

Charlie Brown really is a good man...

Happiness is....
"The Hungry Thing"

Playing sisters, in boxes of peanuts...

Silent heat sinks....

Oh we love this time of year, when boxes arrive. We've had lots of boxes come to our house UPS, FedEx, USPS and the Grandpa Truck :)
*just a side note the UPS guys who came last night were the friendliest I've ever met. I hope they come again.*

Our library has grown tremendously with all these boxes and the girls favorite book this week is "The Hungry Thing" Highly recommend.
Cori's computer went on the fritz (not a good time to have it shutting down ever 30 minutes), the parts for his new computer showed up last night and he spent his evening drooling over all of it's silent components, while the girls went swimming in packing peanuts.

Yeah for boxes full of good stuff.

Havah's dream hair

While avoiding accomplishing anything this morning Havah and I stumbled across this picture.

She was smitten... she wants this hair.
Maybe when she's 45 we'll have been able to grow it long enough to do something like this...
That or she'll have to spend a lot of money on extensions.

I think my 2 year old was hired to kill me and make it look like an accident.

She keeps putting things all of the the kitchen floor... slippery things... And lest we forget, I cannot see my feet.

If I die in my kitchen on a messy floor of upside down pot lids, plastic bags and dress up clothes, please notify the police that it was probably not an accident.

At least I got to go to Whitney's Christmas Concert before I die... it was the best choir concert I've ever been to. Mr. McMullen really knows how to get things done.

Breakfast Tomorrow

I'm going to make this tomorrow...
With chocolate and whipped cream.

Maybe I'll feed it to them for breakfast...
there's health food for ya.

Happy Birthday (almost x 2)

37 (measuring 38) weeks... it's almost Gideon's Birthday!

Come soon Gid.

She's four! (almost)

And she got her creepy pinata pig...
it was all she wanted in the world.

The REAL Santa

This guy is the real deal.
Want to know how we know?
This guy takes time off of his day job to do his 'real job'.
The fakers only show up at Christmas to make a few bucks..

We ran into at the Winco this summer.
The man who with only a handful of plastic "You've been caught being good" coins turned my next 5 (yes FIVE) shopping trips into heaven.
(because what if Santa showed up again?)

So you better watch watch out... because Santa lives in town.

Post Edit: Question:

My 2 year old is screaming bloody murder in her bed.

I have already been up to see her, you know, make sure she's not actually being murdered...
She is fine.
I told her I wasn't going up there again.

We recently instituted a pretty strict, 'if you scream and throw a fit you get salt on your tongue' rule with her... it seems to be the only thing that phases her.

So my question is:
Do I pretend like I can't hear her and stick with my 'I'm not coming up here again'... or do I enforce the salt?

Enforced the Salt... she fell asleep in 5 minutes.
Children are weird.

Frosty the amputee Snowman

They used all their strength to no avail.
They just couldn't get those branches to break off.
He's still cute right?

Making an impression

Step one: Get your Daddy

Step Two: Swing through the air

Step Three: Go splat in the snow

Step Four: Enjoy
