but, WHY do you tell everyone in the district to "Be there! Don't miss this round table! We're handing out fliers for Scouting for Food! Be there! Be there! Be there!" And then when we show up to collect said fliers say 'Oh sorry, they're not ready... we'll send out an email and let you know when we have them..."
Oh, I'm sorry. Why didn't you just EMAIL AND TELL US THAT??? I know why, because if you had, no one would have shown up, because except for those times when essential services/information are provided, Round Table in our district is a complete waste of time... Are we even talking about the new cub scouting program? NO. Did the district commissioner even recognize the name Fast Tracks when I asked her if we would be getting trained on that? NO.
So why should I drive 30 minutes to sit around and listen to a bunch of people shoot the breeze and talk about 'ideas' for scouts, or make neck slides, I could look up all those things on the internet at home?
Dad can I please just have copies of the information/training your district is providing you guys at your round table? Thanks...
Sorry about that.... I am sort of hormonal... and very frustrated right now at the lack of focus being paid by our district to the new Cub Scout program.... which is an awesome program, and what we should be doing is spending time discussing how we can use it better... instead of wasting 2 1/2 hours once a month.
Thank you for letting me get that out of my system. Now I will go finish making my pack flag.
